Our firm's founder is attorney David J. Hungeling. David began his legal career as an associate at Alston & Bird, LLP, a prestigious Atlanta law firm. He practiced in Alston & Bird's Securities Litigation Group where he worked on high-profile securities litigation (including matters involving Healthsouth Corporation and Enron Corp., among others) as well as legal and professional malpractice cases. In 2003, Mr. Hungeling left Alston & Bird to open his own law firm.
- In 2005, 2006, and again in 2007, Mr. Hungeling was named a Georgia Super Lawyer-Rising Star by Atlanta Magazine. The designation is given to the top 2.5% of the best up-and-coming attorneys under age 40.
- Mr. Hungeling received his J.D., magna cum laude, in 2000 from Georgia State University College of Law, where he was Managing Editor of the Law Review. During law school he completed an internship with the Supreme Court of Georgia, where he served as a law clerk for Justice Hugh Thompson. He received his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, where he served as Student Body President. Mr. Hungeling also earned an M.A. from the University of Portland.
- Before law school, he was a volunteer for two years in the Alliance for Catholic Education, which is part of the Americorp Program. He is a graduate of the inaugural class of L.E.A.D. Atlanta, a Leadership Atlanta initiative for young professionals.
